As most of us enjoy the day off tomorrow in celebration of the Royal Wedding, it makes me think back to other historic events and memories from the past connected to my work environment.
Working for a DAF dealer based in Kent, memories of the Ride and Drive days held in the Ashford depot are still of interest. Recently I have come across a whole host of photographs of the classic vehicles on display at the events.
I have a limited number of photos of the annual events, but have come across photos published by others on the web. Some of my favourite examples include:
– Scammell Highwayman Emma Louise
– Foden Gardner Timber Tractor
– Scammell Highwayman Ballast Tractor
You can see more of my favourites bookmarked on our flickr account
