Channel Commercials PLC Celebrates its 25th Anniversary this year.

Channel Commercials commencing trading from the old Caffyns Commercials site in Brunswick Road, Ashford in August 1987.
In June 1992 Channel commercials took over the operation of the Brett Aggregates commercial vehicle workshop in Canterbury.
Lavers Repairs were appointed as a Service Dealer for Channel Commercials in Sevenoaks, Kent in December 1993.
Channel Commercials continued to expand in July 1994 by buying and redeveloping the site of the old Briggs Transport workshop in Whitewall Road, Strood.
In September 1995, the old Brett Aggregates workshop at Wincheap closed, and the operation moved to the Stour Valley Estate on the A28.
The American Truck manufacturer Paccar Inc bought DAF Trucks NV in 1996, and in 1998 Paccar Inc bought the UK Truck manufacturing plant at Leyland.
In the June of 1998 Channel Commercials purchased the former Drury & Drury paintshop at Lympne, and in November the same year purchased land adjacent to their existing site for development into a new dealership.
A new site and building was purchased the following year in August 1999, to move the paintshop from Lympne up to Ashford. the buildings were developed and a brand new paint booth and bodyshop facilities were created, which went in to operation in December 2000.
In October 2002, Channel commercials purchased the assets and goodwill of Laver Repairs at Sevenoaks, and this became the fourth dealership for the company within Kent.
The new flagship dealership at Ashford was completed and became operational in October 2003..
August 2004 saw the redevelopment of the Stour Vallet Estate, so the Service Dealership moved to brand new facilities at Aylesham, just off the A2 between Dover and Canterbury.
In the same year, the company had outgrown the site at Strood, which was resold and Channel Commercials Strood Dealership moved down the road to a larger site in December 2004.
The original Directors of Channel Commercials PLC, Ron Stupple and Tony Chudleigh retired in December 2006, and the company was sold to the senior management team.
In December 2008, the van manufacturer LDV Ltd ceased to make vans and eventually went into liquidation leaving Channel Commercials without a van franchise,.
Finally in July 2011, Channel Commercials secured the Nissan Van Franchise.
This brings us into 2012, where Channel Commercials PLC celebrated 25 years of service to its customers in August this year!
